Group Ten and 15 preview

Ronnie O'Sullivan turned down the invitation to play in the Masters at Alexandra Palace but he has taken the opportunity to perform in the Championship League at the Marshall Arena.

Snooker supremo Barry Hearn admitted to being "astonished" that the Rocket had decided to show up in Milton Keynes and it can only be taken as an indication that O'Sullivan is keen to get back on the baize.

The Chigwell cueman has been housed in Group Ten with Chris Wakelin, Michael Georgiou and Kishan Hirani and it's difficult to see anything but smooth progress for the Rocket.

Wakelin has been well supported against O'Sullivan but the five-time World Champion is still just a 2-7 shot to top the table.

There doesn't seem to be a great deal of value in Group Ten so perhaps it could be best to concentrate on Friday's other section.

Tom Ford, Robert Milkins, Mike Dunn and Ian Burns line up in what looks a competitive affair but Burns could prove the hot ticket.

Ford and Milkins head the betting but they aren't the most consistent performers at the best of times and they look worth opposing on this occasion.

Burns may not have the talent of that pair but the Preston potter is fairly reliable and at 4-1 looks overpriced.
