Match preview

Stephen Maguire produced a remarkable display to see off Neil Robertson in the first round of the Coral Tour Championship and it will be interesting to see if he can repeat that level of performance against Judd Trump.

Maguire made knocks of 58, 59, 86, 103, 108, 111, 115, 117 and 135 in his 9-5 win over Robertson with an astonishing run of break-building.

The Aussie commented on the size of the pockets and table set-up after that defeat, and perhaps that played a part, but either way it's likely to serve as a major boost to Maguire.

Trump couldn't match that scoring blitz in his opening match against John Higgins, but a 9-4 win over the Scot reads well.

It's difficult to knock the Ace but the 6-10 on offer about Maguire converting a 4.5-frame start looks to underrate the chances of the Glasgow potter.

It's unlikely that Maguire will be intimidated by Trump and his game seems to be in good enough shape to at least keep things competitive.
