Classy Higginson should have too much for Miah

Hertford potter has won only two of 13 frames against rival

Starts 8.30am Saturday

Andrew Higginson has looked a potential title-winner in waiting in the last couple of seasons and the Wigan warrior should prove too strong for Hammad Miah in his Paul Hunter Classic opener.

Higginson is 5-6 to make light of a 1.5-frame handicap to Miah and while the outsider played well to defeat Ricky Walden and Martin O'Donnell in the Crucible qualifiers in April, the favourite's class ought to tell in Germany.

Miah has started the 2017-18 campaign pretty positively but Higginson leads the Hertford potter 2-0 in their personal series, winning 11 of their 13 frames, and it could be a case of normal service resumed in Furth.

Underrated Welshman Daniel Wells ought to have too much for Mitchell Mann, but the Birmingham pro also possesses a good deal of natural ability so favourite-backers could not be too confident of a return.

Recommendation
A Higginson -1.5 frames
1pt 5-6 Betway
