Neil Robertson will move up to fourth in the world rankings and gain a place in the easier top half of the Betfred World Championship draw if he wins the China Open, but the Australian can expect a tough test against semi-final opponent Luca Brecel in Beijing.

Robertson made light work of Sam Craigie in a 6-0 cakewalk on Friday, but Brecel is in a different class to the Geordie and ended the hopes of in-form Alan McManus in a 6-1 quarter-final thumping.

That triumph included breaks of 139, 130 and 108 from the Belgian so Brecel, who was recommended each-way at 100-1 before the Beijing action started by Racing Post's Aaron Ashley, has clearly rediscovered peak form with a bang.

Jack Lisowski and Scott Donaldson, two players who many in the game want to see capture a first title of note, meet in the other last-four clash.

Donaldson, who was a whopping 400-1 last weekend before a ball was potted in the Beijing University gym, will keep on plugging away. But Lisowski, who pipped red-hot Stuart Bingham 6-5 in the last eight, may have too much experienced for the methodical Scot.
