Ronnie O'Sullivan to beat Neil Robertson

Preview

Ronnie O'Sullivan's performances in the Champion of Champions are on the up after a slow start against Jimmy White and the Rocket should have enough to deny Neil Robertson in Coventry on Friday evening.

The semi-finals are played over the best of 11 frames at the Ricoh Arena, but while White had chances to upset O'Sullivan in their 4-3 opener it was noticeable that the Essex ace needed to produce more to defeat John Higgins 6-3 in their group final.

Higgins had earlier ousted Stuart Bingham in the £150,000-to-the- winner invitation event, so the form looks good.

Robertson had little to do to beat Martin Gould in his opener then stepped up on that to edge out Shaun Murphy 6-5. The Magician spurned chances for victory, though, and the Australian may not be able to afford O'Sullivan as many opportunities.

But it was prime stuff from both players in the O'Sullivan v Higgins clash with the Rocket making only 16 visits to the table in the match.
