Back in-form Trump to continue Llandudno charge
No stopping the Juddernaut
ITV4, 12.45pm Friday
Judd Trump can be backed to reach Sunday’s final with a victory over Ladbrokes Players Championship rival Ali Carter in the first of the Llandudno semi-finals.
Trump is playing arguably as well as he has ever done and many luminaries, two-time Crucible winner Mark Williams for example, believe it’s the Bristolian’s turn to win the Betfred World Championship this year.
The Juddernaut ended the hopes of Ronnie O’Sullivan in a 5-3 victory on Wednesday night in a match in which both players posted a century, while Carter defeated Neil Robertson by the same scoreline in a last-eight clash in which both players led twice. The Captain’s highest breaks were 94, 84 and 63.
Bookmakers expect Ding Junhui to see off German Masters hero Anthony Hamilton in the last of the four quarter-finals.
