Italy haven't won a Six Nations match since 2015, haven't beaten France since 2013, and are 1-3 for a fourth successive winless campaign.

Both teams have disappointed on the road this year but looked more competitive at home, and although Italy have faded in their final fixture in past campaigns, their last-gasp 29-27 defeat to Scotland last year showed they can battle to the end.

France are ten-point favourites, and have covered the handicap in six of nine encounters with the Azzurri in Rome.

Last six meetings
2018 France 34 Italy 17
2017 Italy 18 France 40
2016 France 23 Italy 21
2015 France 32 Italy 10 (World Cup, Twickenham)
2015 Italy 0 France 29
2014 France 30 Italy 10
