Sheriff could call the shots in highly competitive group
In-form Allen 3-1 market leader to claim finals berth
Starts midday Monday
Group three of this season's Championship League, which starts at noon on Monday, has a competitive look to it.
But as so often with the league, it is a case of trying to predict who's in it to qualify for the finals at the first or second time of asking and which players are happier to trouser the cash for playing more weeks of group matches.
Ryan Day and Barry Hawkins have earned some princely sums in the course of extending their previous Championship League stays, and that has led Betfred to make Mark Allen 3-1 favourite to win group three.
The Northern Irishman is playing some fine snooker this season and Allen merits much respect along with Ali Carter and Kyren Wilson.
They are all capable performers, as are group outsiders Tom Ford and Anthony Hamilton, and with the Sheriff of Pottingham having been edged out 3-2 by Zhou Yuelong in a group final last week, he could offer a shade of value to triumph this time.
Betfred - to win group three: 3 M Allen, 4 B Hawkins, 5 A Carter, 11-2 R Day, 6 K Wilson, 7 T Ford, 9 A Hamilton.
