Match preview

Sheffield Wednesday have turned to Darren Moore in an effort to boost their Championship survival hopes and they can make a strong start under their new gaffer by defeating Yorkshire rivals Rotherham at Hillsborough.

A six-point deduction may end up sinking the Owls, who finished the weekend inside the relegation zone by the same amount.

However, they attacked with plenty of purpose in the first half of Saturday's 3-2 loss at Luton and can cause problems for the Millers, who are hampered by the absence of key players.

Rotherham were missing two first-choice defenders – Michael Ihiekwe (suspended) and Richard Wood (injured) – for Saturday's clash at home to Reading, and their problems were soon exacerbated when centre-back Clark Robertson was forced off with an injury in the 14th minute.

They lost 1-0 to the Royals and the ongoing absence of Ihiekwe, who completes a two-game ban, could reduce their chances against the Owls and contribute to a sixth successive defeat.

Key stat

Rotherham have lost their last five matches.
