Scottish Premiership preview

The Scottish League Cup semi-finals are the highlight of the Scottish card this weekend, but in terms of bets, the Premiership looks the place to play.

Hibernian are 7-10 to beat Dundee United at Easter Road and the Hibees look like home bankers.

Their results haven’t matched their performance levels this season and Lee Johnson’s side are a far better outfit than their standing of seventh place suggests.

There have been green shoots of recovery in recent weeks and Saturday may see Hibs begin to collect the points their endeavours deserve.

Hibs beat Livingston 4-0 at Easter Road before losing to Celtic and Hearts, but they returned to winning ways at Motherwell last weekend. Dundee United have improved a little of late, but the Terrors remain one of the weakest outfits in the Scottish top flight.

Motherwell are another side who should secure three points on their own patch this weekend when they welcome Ross County to Fir Park.

The Staggies have taken only one point from their last six league games, scoring just two goals and recording only seven shots on target in that time.

Motherwell haven’t won any of their last eight home matches, but they have been more than competitive in many of those contests and this looks an excellent opportunity for them to pick up an overdue home success.
