Preview

The top goalscorer market is a fascinating heat this term mainly because the favourite looks far from certain to even be in the division for the duration of the season.

Odsonne Edouard has been heavily linked with a move away from Parkhead and that has undoubtedly hampered his output.

The Frenchman is a top-quality performer, but it’s hard to have too much confidence about the striker staying put and there's no compensation in the golden boot prices.

Rangers easily topped the scoring charts last term, with 92 strikes and they boast the best attacking unit in the division. Alfredo Morelos hasn’t been free of speculation himself, but the Colombian’s future seems a little more certain now and he looks a good each-way bet.

Morelos has bagged 12 league goals in each of his last two Scottish top-flight seasons and he should be up to at least reaching that number again.

Rangers scored 92 goals last season, Celtic hit 78 and Hibs were next best with 48. Those totals show how difficult it is for anyone outside the Old Firm sides to have a chance in this market.

Kemar Roofe is an interesting contender and new Gers signing Fashion Sakala could turn on the style, but their game time may be shared and Morelos is likely to be the focal point of Steven Gerrard’s attack.
