Seattle Sounders have responded to a slow start in Major League Soccer to put themselves in touching distance of the playoffs and they can claim the scalp of an out-of-form LA Galaxy.

The Sounders are unbeaten in their last eight, having won each of their last five games.

There have been few issues to contend with in the final third for the visitors but their rearguard have not kept a clean sheet since early July.

Only Atlanta have netted more goals than Galaxy this term, who are ever-reliant on Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swede has netted 15 league goals this campaign and spearheads the chasing pack behind Josef Martinez in the division's goalscoring charts.

Sigi Schmid has alternated between a back four and a back three throughout this campaign in an attempt to find consistency at the back but to no avail, as his side have shipped more goals than any other team occupying the top five in the Western Conference.

Seattle have overturned strong opposition including FC Dallas and New York City recently and Nico Lodeiro continues to impress as their main creative outlet.

The Sounders have conceded in their last three victories and a similar result could pan out in the clash with Galaxy.
