Sanchez ideally suited to rolling course
Spaniard can make amends for near miss
Stage 18: Suances to Santo Toribio de Liebana
Starts 12.15pm Thursday, live on Eurosport 1 from 3pm
Chris Froome is 1-5 from 1-20 to win La Vuelta after the Briton saw 42 seconds of his advantage slip away on the climb to Los Machucos on Wednesday.
He now leads Vincenzo Nibali by one minute 16 seconds in the overall standings with four stages left to negotiate.
The first of those is a rolling 169km test from Suances to Santo Toribio de Liebana which looks primed for a breakaway to go clear.
The day's four categorised climbs all come in the final 64km including a third-category summit finish.
Stage eight winner Julian Alaphilippe has been installed by bookmakers as favourite and the classics-style terrain looks ideally suited to is talents.
However, the Frenchman spent a day in the break on the arduous stage 17 and his challenge could be blunted by his exertions on Wednesday.
Spaniard Luis Leon Sanchez came close to victory on stage six on a course that bears striking resemblance to stage 18 and looks a nice each-way price at 22-1 with Betway who go four places.
