Cardiff Blues well worth a punt to push visitors Munster

Ulster may not run away with it at struggling Cheetahs

Cardiff have lost all three games this season but they were winning all three with five minutes remaining and they are worth a bet with a four-point start from visitors Munster.

Scoring tries has been no problem for the Blues this campaign including when they lost 33-32 at the Arms Park to Pro14 and European Champions Cup kings Leinster in round one.

No doubt the European Challenge Cup holders will be gnashing their teeth at losing both games in Italy after making excellent starts, but the ding-dong nature of the contests hints that Benetton and Zebre have improved again after plenty of solid showings last term.

Munster were magnificent in the home wins over the Cheetahs and Ospreys but the 25-10 loss at Glasgow suggests their defensive systems are not impenetrable when opponents have their fair share of possession and territory. The Blues should enjoy that.

Glasgow put 50 points on the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein last Saturday and it would be no surprise if the Free State outfit suffered more home disappointment against Ulster. They are a totally different side to the one that reached the playoffs last season.

Go for a narrow away win though. Ulster have not set the scoreboard alight in their three wins this season and changes have been made because of the swift turnaround from Sunday's success at the Kings.

Recommendation
Cardiff +4
1pt 10-11 general
Ulster to win by one to 12 points
1pt 11-5 Betfair
