December has been a hard month for Bath and it may end on a low note as they see out 2017 with a visit from in-form Wasps.

Victory over Toulon in their only home fixture this month was a high point for the West Country side but they lost the reverse fixture the week before and have suffered two gruelling Premiership defeats on the road, at champions Exeter and last weekend at Sale, where they were seen off by four tries to nil.

Bath claimed victory at Wasps in round five, bagging the only try of the game late in a 25-9 success.

However, that came when Wasps were in the midst of an injury crisis and was the third of four straight defeats for last season's beaten finalists.

Now at full strength, Wasps have racked up five Premiership victories in a row – it's six wins from seven in all competitions – and in their last ten matches they have racked up a remarkable 47 tries.

Bath's tally of 26 tries in 11 Premiership matches is the lowest of the top-half sides but they have been strong in defence in key fixtures, and were particularly effective in their win against Wasps.

But they have shipped ten tries in their last two Premiership outings and could find this Wasps outfit, who won 24-3 at the Rec last season, too hot to handle.
