England blew the Six Nations title betting apart with a bonus-point win over Grand Slam champions Ireland on Saturday and have usurped the men in green as odds-on title favourites.

Ireland, who had not lost a home Six Nations match under coach Joe Schmidt and were nine-point favourites against old rivals England, were 5-6 to retain their crown before the off but were stunned by a four-try salvo from Eddie Jones's raiders.

Hailing his team's physical dominance at Dublin's Aviva Stadium, England coach Eddie Jones said he expects his team to get better through the tournament, and England are now 5-6 favourites for the title.

Scotland are top of the early table after they ran in five tries in a home victory against Italy. Winger Blair Kinghorn ran in a hat-trick of tries but although the Scots led 31-3 with ten minutes to go, Italy scored three late tries to stay within a 24-point handicap.

The Azzurri next face Wales, who pulled off one of the most astonishing tournament comebacks to beat France 24-19, having trailed 16-0 at the break.

George North scored two tries - one from a handling error and one from an interception - in the Welsh success and his team are 24-point favourites against Italy in Rome on Saturday.
