Scotland to utilise exciting backs
Autumn International
BBC1, 2.30pm
Australia hit back at their doubters last weekend with a comprehensive victory over Wales built on attacking ambition and slick play, and we should see more of the same when they take on Scotland at Murrayfield.
The Wallabies had won just three of ten Tests in 2016 before that encounter, but their defeats had come against top opposition with the forward power to keep a lid on their expansive game.
Against a depleted Welsh pack the Aussies hit top gear with 17 clean breaks and 21 offloads contributing to a tally of five tries.
And Australia should find themselves on the front foot again as the Scottish pack don’t look able to dominate in the way England and New Zealand did over the summer.
Props Allan Dell and Zander Fagerson have one starting cap between them and while there’s experience in the second and back rows, the Scots are more likely to aim to fight fire with fire through their exciting backline.
It should be an open contest and may well turn into an entertaining, high-scoring affair.
