Match preview

Saracens tripped up on the road at London Irish last week, suffering their first defeat of the campaign, and look set to come out swinging back on home soil.

Opponents Exeter have some cause for confidence after putting together a run of five wins in all competitions since their last Premiership defeat at Newcastle in November.

However, the first two of those were in the Premiership Cup, while back-to-back European victories came against less-than-committed opponents Castres and the Bulls. And the Chiefs were 11-point favourites at home to bottom side Bath last time out and triumphed by half that margin, 20-15.

Taking on Sarries at the StoneX, where they have won all five of their Premiership matches this term, all with a bonus point, is a far tougher task, and the hosts are seven-point favourites.

Narrow wins and losses have been the norm for the Chiefs - eight of their ten league matches have been settled by a single-figure margin.

And they boast the second-best defence in the Premiership - only Sale have conceded fewer points or tries than the Chiefs, while rainy conditions could make it harder for Sarries to cut loose.

Six of Saracens' nine wins this season have come by 11 points or fewer, and a home success by a margin of one to 12 looks the best bet.

Elsewhere in the Premiership on Saturday, Bath are seven-point favourites with the oddsmakers at home to Newcastle while Gloucester are asked to give up six at home to London Irish.
