These teams kicked off the 2021-22 Premiership season with a clash at Ashton Gate, where hosts Bristol were six-point favourites having topped the table the season before while Sarries were supposedly feeling their way back to life in the top flight.

But Saracens ran out 26-9 winners and have pushed their way to second in the table while Bristol have managed just six wins all season, and only one on the road.

Early away defeats were heavy – Bristol went down 44-8 at Wasps and 52-24 at Harlequins in their first two trips of the season – but since then five of their six away losses have been by a single-figure margin, and they have also won at London Irish.

This is a big step up from most of those opponents at a time when Sarries have tended to hit their stride in past seasons, but Bristol have a strong bench. The hosts should win comfortably but they are unlikely to run away with it.
