A tally of 11 wins and third place in the overall standings is the Jaguares' best Super Rugby performance and they are narrow favourites to make their first appearance in the semi-finals by beating the Waikato Chiefs on home soil in Buenos Aires.

The Argentinian outfit won six of eight home matches this year but the Chiefs were one of the teams to come away with a win, edging a thriller with a try in the final minutes. The Chiefs had led 17-6 at the break.

That result at the end of March was only the second win of the season for the Chiefs, who went through the opening five rounds without a victory only to break their duck with a seven-try salvo against the Bulls in Pretoria.

The Chiefs have finished with a flourish with just one defeat in their last six including victory over the table-topping Crusaders in Fiji and a 59-8 mauling of the Rebels in Melbourne last weekend.

This will be a tough task as the New Zealand outfit had to travel at short notice and have to make a quick adjustment to a 15-hour time difference.

But they have scored 99 points in their last two matches and look sure to come out firing and this looks set to be a high-scoring affair.
