Sunwolves v Highlanders
Sky Sports Action, 11am Friday

Bottom-of-the-ladder Sunwolves are yet to win at home this season but they have enjoyed sprightly successes at the Chiefs and Waratahs and picked up losing bonuses against the Hurricanes last Friday, Tahs, Reds and Blues when they appeared complacent too.

A ten-point handicap start is tempting but Aaron Mauger's Highlanders selection at the Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium is strong, even with All Blacks full-back Ben Smith rested and backrower Shannon Frizell on the bench, and they will be keen to pick up a five-point haul after halting their six-game losing streak against the Blues on Saturday.

The best bet, therefore, looks to be home left wing Semisi Masirewa to score an eighth try of the season. Since scoring a hat-trick in their win over the Waratahs in Newcastle, he has bagged braces in defeat to both the Rebels and Canes.

Recommendation
S Masirewa to score a try

Crusaders v Lions
Sky Sports Action, 8.35am Friday

The Lions have not won in seven visits to Christchurch including last year's final and will not have realistic ambitions of ending Crusaders' home winning run of 24 matches.

But the Joburg outfit are worth a wager with a 21-point start following last Friday's 23-16 win over the Chiefs in Hamilton and they were not totally overrun in defeat to the Brumbies in Canberra a fortnight ago either. The Lions' campaign also began with a worthy win over Jaguares in Buenos Aires and narrow loss to the Stormers in Cape Town.

The Crusaders have scored 26 tries in four games in front of their fans this term but it has not all been one-way traffic towards the away whitewash and the Lions have proved themselves over the last two seasons to be a tenacious outfit on the road not just at Ellis Park.

Recommendation
Lions +21
1pt 10-11 general
