Dragons v Wasps

Where to watch

BT Sport 2, 5.30pm Saturday

Best bet

Dragons +11
2pts 10-11 Betfair, Paddy Power

Match preview

It's ten years since the Dragons last appeared in Europe's premier club competition in a campaign that ended with six defeats out of six.

But there seems to be a new-found steel in the Welsh outfit and they are worth backing with a decent handicap start against a Wasps team who have made a shaky start in the Premiership.

The Dragons are coached by former Wasps player Dean Ryan, and while a record this term of three wins and three losses is nothing special - in their last two matches they have won at Benetton and edged Glasgow by a single point - they look to have something of a battling edge.

Since reaching the Premiership final in the autumn, Wasps have won one out of three games this season, by three points against a depleted Bristol side, and have not covered the handicap in any of them.

Montpellier v Leinster

Where to watch

BT Sport 3, 5.30pm Saturday

Best bet

Leinster to win by one to 12 points
1pt 21-10 Betfair

Match preview

With a 100 per cent record in the Pro14 this season and last and a tally of 17 wins in their last 18 European pool matches, it's not hard to see why Leinster have been installed as tournament favourites.

Since they last lifted the trophy in 2018 only Saracens - in the 2019 final and last season's quarter-final - have denied them, and they look a solid selection for an opening win.

Montpellier won the Challenge Cup in 2016 but their Champions Cup pedigree is restricted to one quarter-final appearance. However, they have a strong squad and their only two home defeats in the Top 14 this season have been by one and three points, so backing an away win by no more than 12 looks a sensible approach.

Edinburgh v La Rochelle

Where to watch

BT Sport 2, 8pm Saturday

Best bet

La Rochelle -1
3pts 10-11 bet365

Match preview

La Rochelle have stormed to the summit of the Top 14 with eight wins in 11 matches and while in past years their European commitment seemed to lag a long way behind their domestic ambitions, they have named a strong line-up as they face a struggling Edinburgh side.

Les Corsaires announced themselves on the European stage in 2017-18 when they blitzed to three wins out of three against Harlequins, Ulster and Wasps, putting up 124 points in the process.

Last year was a disappointment in a tough group but they should aim high against an Edinburgh side with just two wins out of seven in this campaign having just missed out on last season's final.
