Warrington could find Wildcats tough to tame

Warrington’s Ladbrokes Challenge Cup record since Tony Smith took the reins in 2009 is remarkable – for the seventh time in eight seasons, the Wolves have reached the semi-final.

The first three appearances in 2009, 2010 and 2011 resulted in comfortable wins and Warrington are 2-9 to get the job done against Wakefield at Leigh Sports Village this afternoon.

However, the Wolves were overwhelming favourites to reach Wembley in 2013 and 2015 when shocked by Hull and Hull KR. They also lost to Leeds in 2014 and the 4-1 Wildcats will take heart from that run of results.
