It's played three, lost three for Wakefield Trinity and Leeds Rhinos in the Betfred Super League this season so something has to give at Belle Vue on Thursday.

Neither side have been blown away in their defeats, though, and Leeds for their all their injuries and suspensions have looked pretty decent having faced title hopefuls Warrington, Wigan and Catalans in a punishing opening schedule.

This fixture should be more to their liking but Wakey have proved stubborn opponents over the years.

The last ten meetings have featured winning margins of seven, two, six, two, 24, ten, two, 17 and two points - plus a draw - and this could be another close encounter.

The Rhinos have won four of their last six visits to Wakefield by margins no greater than ten points so the 21-10 about another victory by 12 points or fewer makes the most appeal.

Wakefield finished last season on a high, winning five of their last seven fixtures, including a 20-13 victory over Leeds.

However, Willie Poching's men have also had to do it the hard way in the opening rounds of 2022, facing Hull FC, Catalans and St Helens, a tricky triumvirate.

They lost all three but only by four, two and 16 points, and they could limit the damage against the Rhinos.
