Huddersfield Giants are doing it tough in 2025 and a rejuvenated Hull FC are just 1-8 to extend the Giants' winless start to ten games in the opening encounter of day two at Magic Weekend in Newcastle.
Injuries have certainly played their part in the Giants' early-season travails so the return of playmaker Adam Clune on Sunday will be a welcome relief for rookie head coach Luke Robinson.
There is little to suggest that will be enough for them to finally get off the mark at St James' Park but they may be competitive with an 18-point handicap start.
February's 11-10 loss at home to Hull is the closest Huddersfield have come to winning a game and, for all their progress under John Cartwright this season, the Airlie Birds are not that prolific, averaging just over 17 points per game this season.
Wigan Warriors vs Warrington Wolves

Wigan and Warrington headed to the bright lights of Las Vegas for their first meeting of the season and the Super League heavyweights again face off on neutral territory in Sunday's marquee fixture at Magic Weekend.
The Warriors were electric in Sin City, where they romped to a 48-24 victory, and would have won by an even wider margin were it not for some late Warrington tries.
Matt Peet's champions are a well-oiled machine and they pitch up in the North East on a run of four straight wins, the latest of which have been over league leaders Hull KR, great rivals St Helens and surprise package Hull FC.
Warrington have beaten St Helens on three occasions and squeezed past Leeds since their chastening trip across the pond but they have also lost at home to Wakefield and Hull and on the road at Leigh.
The Wolves have lacked the same bite that took them to the Challenge Cup final last term, where they were beaten by Wigan, but a 14-point start does look a decent handicap buffer if they put their best foot forward in Newcastle.
However, at decent odds, take a punt on Wigan second-rower Junior Nsemba crossing first. The England international is enjoying his most prolific season, scoring five tries in 11 outings, and was a real handful for Warrington in Las Vegas.
Six of Wigan's nine tries that night came down their left , where Nsemba operates, and, at 17-1, he is a big each-way price with Paddy Power, who go a quarter the odds for the first three tryscorers.
Castleford Tigers vs Wakefield Trinity
| Match result | Odds |
|---|---|
| Castleford Tigers | 19-10 with Betfred |
| Wakefield Trinity | 4-9 with Betfred |
| Draw | 18-1 with Betfred |

Yorkshire rivals Castleford and Wakefield conclude the weekend's festivities on Tyneside.
Trinity have performed excellently since promotion back to Super League and are worthy favourites, but Cas are improving and were edged out by just one point at Wakefield two weeks ago.
The Tigers went on to swat aside winless Huddersfield last weekend and Danny McGuire's men could make life tough for Wakey.
That said, a six-point handicap is perhaps a little too low to get involved from a punting perspective.
