Match previews

The Betfred Super League playoffs are looming large and the competition's top two can flex their muscles with comfortable victories on Sunday.

Leaders St Helens travel to Hull FC and although the champions have found things more of a struggle in recent weeks, they should return from East Yorkshire with two more points.

Saints have won their last 13 meetings with Hull and have prevailed by 14 or more points in each of the last 11. Hull's struggles against the Red Vee are highlighted further by the fact they have failed to score more than 18 points in any of those 11 fixtures.

Hull are in the midst of their annual end-of-season collapse and have won just one of their last four outings, a 30-6 win over bottom club Toulouse.

A win over St Helens looks beyond the Black & Whites and Wakefield are likely to come up short against second-placed Wigan.

The Warriors are pushing Saints all the way as the regular season reaches its conclusion and are just four points adrift of the champions at the top of the table.

Wakey are fighting for their lives at the bottom and have won just one of their last seven fixtures.

Meetings with Wigan have made for grim viewing for Trinity fans. The Warriors have posted 25 or more points in each of the pair's last seven clashes and another long afternoon may await the Belle Vue outfit.

Wigan are scoring at a rate of almost 30 points per match this season and they can cover a 12-point handicap. The last three meetings have been settled in Wigan's favour by margins of 24, 44 and 30 points.
