Wigan were thwarted in their bid to become rugby league world champions last weekend but the reigning Betfred Super League champions are just 1-3 to get back to winning ways when they return to domestic action against injury-ravaged Hull.

The Warriors, who began the season with a two-point deduction for a salary cap breach in 2017, have lost to St Helens and beaten Leeds in their two opening games of the new season and coach Adrian Lam has named a strong squad for the visit of the Airlie Birds. Second-rower Liam Farrell is Wigan's only new absentee after he suffered a torn pectoral muscle in the defeat to the Sydney Roosters.

Hull, meanwhile, have really struggled with injuries in the fledgling stages of the season. Things have become so bad that former Great Britain international Gareth Ellis has been named in their squad having retired from professional rugby at the end of 2017.

Ellis will bring up a century of games for the Black & Whites if he is in the squad at the DW while former union winger Ratu Naulago goes straight into the visitors' squad following a successful trial this week.

Hull are finding things tough and wounded Wigan are in no mood to offer them any respite.

Recommendation
Wigan to win by 11 to 20 points
1pt 11-4 Betfred
