Huddersfield Giants look to be safely in the Betfred Super League playoffs but they may struggle to solidify their claims against one of those sides looking to break into the top six.

The Giants look certain to finish in the top four but the Red Devils are seventh and part of the chasing pack along with Castleford, Leeds, Hull FC and Hull KR looking to prolong their seasons.

Salford have lifted themselves into contention despite winning just three of their opening 11 fixtures this season.

Since then, though, Paul Rowley's men have turned things around and find themselves in that lofty position thanks to five wins from their last six home matches and they have seen off some of the big guns along the away.

St Helens were hammered 44-12 a fortnight ago, while Catalans, Castleford and Leeds have all been given short shrift at the AJ Bell Stadium, where Salford do most of their best work.

And the Giants may also be cut down to size in greater Manchester having won just one of their last four matches on the road.

The Red Devils are a different beast in front of their own fans and have posted 32 points or more in each of their last three home outings.

They look a great bet to get home by no more than 12 points just as they did in the corresponding fixture 12 months ago when they ran out 18-12 winners.
