The finish line is in sight in the Betfred Super League and the composition of this season's playoffs will be determined over the remaining two rounds of the regular season.

Only a mathematical disaster will stop Hull KR finishing top of the pile while Wakefield and Hull FC are battling it out for sixth and final playoff berth.

St Helens look booked for fifth but there is a three-way scrap above them between Wigan, Leeds and Leigh to finish second, which would secure an easier route to next month's Grand Final at Old Trafford.

Wigan are in the box seat but Leeds, who they meet in their final regular-season fixture, can still usurp them and the Rhinos have a good chance to pile on some points this Thursday.

Leeds Rhinos vs Catalans Dragons preview

Leeds Rhinos have won eight of their last ten Super League matches and the eight-time title winners have timed their Grand Final charge to perfection.

There are just two rounds of the regular season left to play and the Rhinos start round 26 in third, just two points behind defending champions Wigan, who they meet in a crunch finale next week.

Leeds retain faint hopes of finishing as runners-up, likely to Hull KR, but they must win both remaining league fixtures and hope the Warriors slip up against Castleford on Friday.

That looks fanciful given Cas's performances this season but Leeds have to do their bit regardless and a heavy win over Catalans on Thursday is a must. 

Points difference will be the determining factor should Leeds and Wigan finish the season with the same number of competition points and Wigan enter the penultimate round 65 points better off in that respect, so the Rhinos know they must be ruthless against the Dragons.

The French side are definitely there for the taking, though. Catalans have won just two of their last nine matches and scraped past bottom-side Salford by just a single point last week.

Leeds were rarely troubled in a 26-0 win at Huddersfield a week ago and it was the second match in a row which they won without conceding following a 34-0 hammering of Hull FC the week before.

Brad Arthur's side have conceded just 12 points across their last four matches, which includes a 28-6 home drubbing of leaders Hull KR.

That kind of form suggests a comfortable home win at Headingley on Thursday and backing the Rhinos to cover a 30-point handicap may not be quite the stretch it sounds.

Brodie Croft may also be worth backing to score a try. 

The Aussie playmaker has been in fine form, scoring five tries in the Rhinos' last five fixtures, and he should get opportunities to extend that sequence against a shaky Catalans defence.
