Match preview

Toulouse Olympique are fighting for their Betfred Super League lives, but having been hammered at home to Hull FC last week, they could get short shrift from another East Yorkshire outfit just six days later.

Things were looking up for Toulouse just a few weeks ago after three consecutive wins lifted them off the bottom of the table for the first time in their debut season in the top flight.

Their mini-revival hit the skids, though, with two home hammerings from Salford and Hull plunging them back to the bottom below relegation rivals Wakefield.

The French side remain favourites to finish there and their position is unlikely to improve following this trip to Hull KR where they are 11-4 with bet365 for victory.

The points have dried up for Sylvain Houles' men, who have scored just 17 points across their last two outings while shipping 54 in the process.

Toulouse are the competitions lowest scorers, averaging just 16 points per game, and they have won just one of their nine away league fixtures this season.

On the plus side they have come out on top in four of their last five meetings with the Robins who, due to an injury crisis, travelled with a youthful squad to Wigan last week and were duly hammered.

KR have a healthier look this week, with skipper Shaun Kenny-Dowall among four senior players who return, and they can take care of an eight-point handicap while it may be also worth backing winger Ethan Ryan to continue his fine form.

The prolific 26-year-old bagged 89 tries in 98 matches at Bradford Bulls and has continued to cross the whitewash regularly at Craven Park.

Ryan has scored six tries in 14 appearances this season, including three in each of the last three games, and he looks a touch of value to open the scoring against Toulouse.
