Castleford Tigers vs Hull KR predictions

There can be little doubt that the Robins are well and truly rocking as they seek to end the establishment's stranglehold on the Super League title.

Only four clubs have tasted Grand Final glory in the Super League era but Hull KR are on a mission to enter that exclusive club this season.

Top of the table and with the Challenge Cup safely in the bag, Old Trafford is the only destination on the minds of Rovers and their fans, who left the Theatre of Dreams in October wondering what might have been as they were beaten 9-2 by Wigan in a tense title-decider.

But last season's quadruple winners are the only side to have beaten Rovers this term and Willie Peters' pace-setters showed no signs of a Wembley hangover last week as they took Catalans to the cleaners in a 68-6 rout that illustrated, if it were needed, that KR won't be content with picking up only one piece of silverware in 2025.

Castleford are the next team tasked with trying to stop the Robins. The Tigers have been in better form recently, culminating in a 22-14 win at KR's neighbours Hull FC last weekend, and they took Rovers to golden-point extra-time on the opening weekend of the season.

However, performances in round one are never a great guide and Hull KR have shown since that alongside champions Wigan they are a cut above the remainder of Super League.

Backed by a typically passionate home support at the Jungle, Cas should make the visitors much harder for their rewards than a sorry Catalans side did, but there is a reason why Rovers have won 13 of their 14 league games this year – nine more than the Tigers – and they have the quality and confidence to get the job done with a degree of comfort.

Castleford's ten defeats this season have come by an average of 15.9 points and quotes of 5-2 about an away win by between 11 and 20 points looks worth a small interest.
