Castleford fancied for successful Vikings raid

Salford can win at Wakefield

Two teams with contrasting fortunes square up in the Betfred Super League when the Castleford Tigers take their unbeaten record to the yet-to-win Widnes Vikings.

It’s three victories from three for classy Cas, who have been rampant in the opening weeks scoring 140 points while conceding just 48.

A win would see them return to the top of the table, and while that looks likely, odds of around 1-5 are hardly enticing and a better bet is the evens about the Tigers covering a 14-point handicap.

The Vikings have struggled in their first three games, scoring just 56 points while conceding 70, and have only a draw with Catalans to show for their efforts. They can often count on their plastic pitch to aid them but they may need more than that.

Salford have started the campaign well after escaping relegation last season and they look a decent bet at Wakefield.

The Red Devils have won two of their opening four while Wakey have won just once, but layers are struggling to separate the pair.

A Salford win by one to 12 points at 9-4 looks cracking value in what could be a close contest.
