When it comes to the Betfred Super League, Hull FC have never realised their full potential, reaching just one Grand Final in 24 years of summer rugby league.

However, there has been a quiet confidence on the west side of the city this winter and two early wins have seen that grow.

The Airlie Birds have arguably been the pick of the opening two rounds, routing Leeds on their own patch before beating rivals Hull KR in last week's derby.

Lee Radford's men will have to improve again if they are to beat champions St Helens in a Sunday Super League blockbuster, but their colossal forward pack look capable of serving it up to the Saints.

Saints will be eager to hit back having been kept scoreless in a league match for the first time since August 2016 by Warrington last week. They could welcome back key men Alex Walmsley, Kyle Amor and Tommy Makinson for the trip to the KCom Stadium.

Walmsley's inclusion is a particular boost as his size and power will go some way to matching Hull's giant pack down the middle.

The forecast strong winds could mean expansive rugby is at a premium and it could be Hull who win the ensuing arm wrestle between two sides who look sure to be in the reckoning for Grand Final success.

England half-back Gareth Widdop is set to make his Warrington bow at Wakefield. Widdop's Wolves are asked to give up eight points to Trinity on the handicap.
