Friday's Betfred Super League predictions

Leeds Rhinos beat St Helens 17-4 in their Betfred Super League meeting over Magic Weekend in May and they can repeat the trick in their latest clash on Friday.

That victory prompted a Rhinos charge that has seen them win their last five matches, and they begin round 15 in a lofty third place.

The playoffs are firmly in reach and they can solidify their top-six spot with a victory at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

Fifth-placed Saints are also in the playoff mix and they have been piling on the points in recent weeks with scores of 46, 46 and 40 in three of their last four matches.

Those totals came in wins over struggling trio Salford, Huddersfield and Catalans, but this is a huge step up in class and one the Red Vee may struggle to negotiate.

Their case isn't helped by the fact that inspirational skipper Jack Welsby has been ruled out for four months following knee surgery and he joins Joe Batchelor, George Whitby and Lewis Murphy on the sidelines.

Injuries have hampered St Helens all season and Leeds can pour salt into their wounds this Friday with their sixth successive win.

Wigan should also land the points but they face another testing fixture when they head to Wakefield.

The champions only just edged past second-bottom Huddersfield with a 22-18 victory and another tight clash awaits at Belle Vue.

Wakey have won three of their last five home matches with the Warriors and were beaten at home by a last-gasp Leigh try last week.

That was Wakefield's third straight loss by no more than four points and they are not likely to back down against the champions.

An away win by no more than 12 points looks the best course of action from a betting perspective.
