Saturday's Betfred Super League predictions

Hull FC and St Helens started round 17 of Super League in sixth and fifth places respectively but things could look a lot different following Saturday's clash at the MKM Stadium.

St Helens are one of the form sides in the competition ahead of their jaunt to East Yorkshire and if results go their way this weekend, they could finish the round as high as third.

Hull, though, could fall out of the top six altogether if things go against them and their home form this season is a huge cause for concern.

The Black & Whites haven't won on home soil for almost a year and they will have to be at their very best this weekend to get out anything out of the Saints, who appear to be timing their playoff march to perfection.

The Red Vee are looking to make it four wins on the bounce, and they are warm favourites to improve their phenomenal record against the Airlie Birds.

Paul Wellens' men have won 19 of their last 20 meetings with Hull and a six-point handicap should be easily covered on Saturday.

St Helens have won their last three meetings with Hull by an aggregate 134-18 and they warmed up for this contest by putting 54 past Salford last week without reply, so a comfortable win looks likely in this clash.

Their last visit to this venue ended with a 46-6 win to the Red Vee, and although Hull have improved markedly since then, they have looked vulnerable in recent weeks with key injuries cutting deep.

Saints have conceded just eight points in their last three matches and they can ensure another miserable afternoon for Hull's long-suffering home faithful.

Catalans Dragons have had little to cheer about this term, but they look a decent bet with a chunky start for their trip to Wakefield on Saturday.

The French raiders started the round down in ninth following a run of just two wins from their last eight matches, but the start of that sequence yielded a 24-20 victory over Trinity in April.

Wakey are tough nuts to crack on home soil and their recent home win over Wigan suggests Catalans won't have things all their own way. A narrow home win could be the outcome once more.

However, the Dragons have won their last 14 meetings with Wakefield and a ten-point start looks generous.
