Saturday's Betfred Super League predictions

Castleford Tigers were beaten 40-0 by St Helens in Super League last week and that is the start they have been handed on the handicap for their daunting trip to league leaders Hull KR this Saturday.

Although they were thumped 48-0 by the Robins in round 15, they warrant support to stay within that mark at Craven Park.

Hull KR took a four-point lead at the top of the table into this round of matches and could extend that to a six-point advantage with a win over the Tigers should second-placed Wigan fail to win at Warrington on Friday night.

Rovers have looked on as all of their top-six rivals have been in action over the last two nights, but they will also have one eye on next week's first versus second humdinger against the Warriors at the Brick Community Stadium next Friday.

If they win that they could all but wrap up top spot and claim their first League Leaders' Shield, so that may take off some of their edge against Cas.

Make no mistake, they should see off the Tigers with some comfort, but they may ease off in the closing stages should the match be won.

It was 19-18 to the Robins when Castleford visited Craven Park in round one but the sides have been miles apart in terms of results since then.

Rovers have lost just three of their 20 matches this term, while Cas have won just five times and the season can't end soon enough for the West Yorkshire outfit.

Hull KR have much more to play for and that could prompt them to go for a more controlled performance on Saturday afternoon.

Huddersfield Giants and Catalans Dragons have little left to play for either in the final seven rounds of the regular season and that could result in a comfortable home win for the Giants.

The Dragons have shown little fight in an abject season and they have little hope of making the playoffs following a four-match winless streak.

Ironically, their last win came against the Giants in round 16 and that was the second time they have got the better of Luke Robinson's men this term.

However, Huddersfield have won two of their four matches since that pasting in Perpignan, and last week's win at Hull FC was particularly impressive.

Backing up successes such as last Saturday's 30-14 victory has been one of their problems this term, but they look a decent bet to cover a two-point handicap on home soil.

The Dragons have won just two of their nine away league matches in 2025 and the Giants can stand tall for a second week running.
