Friday's Betfred Super League predictions

Wigan Warriors have a fantastic record in their Battle of the Borough meetings with rivals Leigh Leopards but they may face more of a fight in their latest dust-up on Friday.

The Warriors have won 11 of the last 12 meetings between the clubs and the latest triumph came in a 36-28 thriller in round 11.

Prior to that the champions had knocked the spots off the Leopards with some proper pastings, and Leigh have scored more than six points in just one of the last five clashes.

Things should be closer this week though, as Wigan are a long way off the flowing side who have landed the last two Super League titles.

A long term-injury to star man Bevan French isn't helping and recent results suggest Leigh are worthy of support with an eight-point start on the handicap.

Wigan have struggled to see off bottom-three sides Huddersfield and Castleford in recent weeks, while sandwiched between those six and four-point wins was a 16-10 loss at Wakefield.

The champions have fallen four points behind leaders Hull KR and they can ill-afford to lose much more ground with just 11 rounds of the regular season remaining.

Leigh have struggled on home soil this term but points have been easy to come by in recent weeks, so they should be able to stay in touch with their rivals.

Warrington have had a miserable season by their standards but they should be able to secure back-to-back victories for just the third time this season when they visit beleaguered Salford on Friday.

The Wolves eased past playoff rivals Hull FC last week and should be too strong for the Red Devils, who are tailed off at the bottom of the table following a season of off-field issues.

A comfortable away win is likely but there is little motivation to get involved from a betting perspective when prices become available.
