Reigning champions St Helens lost their unbeaten start to the Betfred Super League season last week but they should get back on track against Hull FC at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

Saints lost 20-16 to Catalans Dragons last Saturday but until then had looked formidable, winning each of their six fixtures, two without conceding, in a sequence which saw them ship just 34 points.

That's astonishing for a side who normally adopt a more swashbuckling approach but in Hull FC they face a side equally focused on a solid defence.

Hull have let in just 97 points from their seven games - the third-best record in the league this season - and this could be a tight contest for once.

St Helens have dominated this fixture recently, winning the last eight and they have handed out some heavy beatings to the Black & Whites in that time.

However, this Hull side are made of stronger stuff and could keep the scoreline more respectable, while Castleford Tigers could also run out close winners in their dust-up with old adversaries, Leeds Rhinos.

Leeds are in miserable nick having won just two of their opening seven matches and it is unlikely they can arrest their slump at the Jungle.

Cas have been patchy this season but ran out 18-10 winners against the Rhinos at Headingley in round two and a similar outcome looks likely in this rematch.
