Challenge Cup final predictions

Hull KR were beaten Betfred Challenge Cup finalists in 2023 to prolong their years of hurt, but they can end their 40-year wait for silverware with a victory over Warrington Wolves in this year's decider at Wembley on Saturday.

The Robins were edged out in an agonising 17-16 golden-point loss to Leigh Leopards two years ago but they have continued to grow even despite last season's Super League Grand Final loss to Wigan.

Those losses only seem to have fired up the East Yorkshire side and they can use it to their advantage against injury-hit and out-of-form strugglers, Warrington.

Rovers are top of the pile in Super League following 12 wins from their opening 13 matches, and only champions Wigan have got the better of them in 2025.

The Red & Whites have been the best in the business this term and they are warm 1-3 favourites to finally get their hands on a major prize.

Their one Challenge Cup triumph came way in 1980 and they have had to watch on as city rivals Hull FC have lifted the famous old trophy on three occasions since then.

However, they have hit top gear this term and it is hard to see them missing out on this occasion and a comfortable win could be in the offing.

Hull KR have won their last three meetings with Warrington, the most recent a 31-12 hammering just a fortnight ago, and their recent taste of big-match action should stand them in good stead this weekend.

Peters' men edged out the Wolves with a 10-8 win in last season's playoff semi-finals but things could be more one-sided for the red-hot Robins.

Hull KR have scored 31 or more points in each of their last four matches, even keeping a clean sheet in two of those fixtures, while they have posted scores of 34, 31, 34 and 54 in their last four outings

They are averaging just under 30 points per game scored in the league, while they also boast the best defensive record having conceded just 116 points in their 13 fixtures.

That's a formidable combination and it could spell trouble for a Warrington side who have found things more of a struggle as injuries and poor form have taken their toll.

A run of just two wins from their last seven matches has seen the Wire slump to eighth in the Super League standings and it will take something special for Sam Burgess's men to turn this final in their favour.

George Williams' return from injury should help, but the England playmaker has been out for eight weeks and his inclusion could be a risk, while several other key men are just returning from injury.

Magic Mikey set for starring role

Rovers have been fortunate on the injury front and their settled side, led by inspirational half-back Mikey Lewis, look a solid bet to lift the Challenge Cup this weekend.

Lewis is the reigning Super League Man of Steel but he has yet to stamp his authority on a showpiece final.

That could change this weekend at Wembley where Magic Mikey is fancied to land the man-of-the-match award.

The diminutive half-back makes Hull KR tick and he has claimed 12 tries and 14 assists in league action this term.

Only Wigan's Jai Field has scored more tries in Super League than Lewis this season and if Hull KR secure victory then Lewis won't be far away from the Lance Todd Trophy conversation.

Should Warrington spring a surprise, goal-kicker supreme Marc Sneyd could be the name on everyone's lips at the final hooter.

Sneyd led Hull FC to back-to-back Challenge Cup wins in 2016 and 2017 and on both occasions claimed the man of the match award.

A Wolves win on Saturday is likely to see Sneyd at the forefront of the action.
