Rilee Rossouw can bloom for Hampshire at Rose Bowl
Somerset star James Hildreth value to shine
Hampshire v Somerset
Sky Sports Cricket, 2pm Wednesday
Backing Rilee Rossouw and James Hildreth to top-score for their teams looks the best-value approach to Wednesday's One-Day Cup day-night clash.
South Group leaders Hampshire take on fourth-placed Somerset at the Rose Bowl.
Opener Rossouw hit 90 and 111 in Hampshire's first two home games of the 50-over campaign against Surrey and Essex and was going along smoothly with 24 off 27 balls in their third against Kent. He also tonked 156 Last year, when the counties met at Taunton last year.
Middle-order mainstay Hildreth warmed up with 184 against Hampshire's bowlers at Taunton in the Championship and he is in the top ten of the tournament runs list with 382 including scores of 154 and 87.
It will be no surprise if Dale Steyn does some early damage on his debut for Hampshire and Hildreth takes his time compiling a key knock.
Evening showers are on the radar for Southampton so DLS could come into the equation and the state of play in another final-round encounter at Chelmsford may affect the intensity as well.
Somerset need second-placed Kent, who are safely in the knockout stages, to win at third-placed Essex in order to stand a chance of nabbing third, while a win for the hosting Eagles guarantees Hampshire a home semi-final.
If the Spitfires down Essex, then Gloucestershire and Surrey will also be in the mix for third if they can beat their respective visitors Middlesex and Glamorgan.
Nottinghamshire seamer Jake Ball has been called up to England's squad for the five-ODI series against Australia that begins next week after it was confirmed that Chris Woakes, like fellow all-rounder Ben Stokes, will be sidelined for the first few games.
Devon Smith looks worth a wager to top-score for the West Indies in their three-Test series with Sri Lanka that starts on Wednesday in Trinidad (Sky Sports Mix, 3pm).
Smith, 36, has won a recall after a three-year absence because of six hundreds and 1,085 runs in ten matches for the Windward Islands in the 2017-18 regional four-day tournament.
