Delhi Daredevils had a troubled build-up to the IPL, with South Africa stars JP Duminy and Quinton de Kock withdrawing shortly before the off, and they could be set for a second defeat in two games when they travel to Pune Supergiants.
Pune nailed an impressive chase against Mumbai in their first home game of the season and their batting looks in good shape with skipper Steve Smith, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni and Ben Stokes in the top order.
But perhaps Pune’s strongest suit is spin as Imran Tahir of
South Africa and young Australia leggie Adam Zampa fill two of their four overseas-player slots.
Tahir has been superb in the first two games, taking the prize scalps of Parthiv Patel, Jos Buttler and Rohit Sharma against Mumbai before figures of 2-29 in the defeat to Kings XI.
The excitable spinner looks a big price at 14-1 to be named man of the match.
Babar Azam’s unbeaten 125 helped Pakistan level their ODI series in the West Indies and the batsman can lead the way for the tourists again.
Babar has been in remarkable form, scoring five centuries and an 84 in his last ten ODIs, and four of those tons have come against the Windies.
