Rangers should inflict misery on broken Hearts
BT Sport 2, 7.45pm
Rangers could pile on the agony for new Hearts boss Ian Cathro with a win at Tynecastle.
Hearts easily beat Rangers 2-0 in former manager Robbie Neilson’s last match in charge of the Jambos in November, but a lot has changed since then.
Cathro has undergone a radical reshaping of his Hearts side with nine new arrivals and it has not gelled for them yet.
In contrast, Rangers are tough to beat and have steadily improved since that defeat. In Kenny Miller, the Gers have an age-defying star who is still their best player at 37 years old.
Hearts barely raised a glove in their weekend defeat at Celtic and Rangers can take advantage against a Jambos team short on confidence.
1pt 6-4 general
Hearts could give debuts to new signings Esmael Goncalves, Alexandros Tziolis and Anastasios Avlonitis. John Souttar and Callum Paterson are long-term injury victims.
Rangers are still without Niko Kranjcar and Jordan Rossiter. New keeper signing Jak Alnwick is likely to be on the bench.
Hearts have kept just one clean sheet in their last nine games
