Proud Californian Escobedo ready to rise to the occasion
Day one matches
Eurosport 1 & 2, from 4pm Monday
Albot v Escobedo
Ernesto Escobedo looks a promising performer and the American can turn on the style against qualifier Radu Albot on day one of the US Open.
Escobedo has enjoyed victories over John Isner and Daniil Medvedev this season and the limited Albot could be overrated after dismissing Joao Domingues, Christian Garin and Frank Dancevic, all in straight sets, to earn a place in the last 128.

Schwartzman v Berlocq
Diego Schwartzman holds the aces in this all-Argentinian battle and the younger man, whose game is well suited to DecoTurf, should be able to put some space between himself and the sometime Davis Cup hero.
After losing his first two meetings with Berlocq on clay, Schwartzman won their last two clashes and coasted home 6-1 4-1 in their most recent rumble.
The faster courts should enable the talented 29th seed to pull away from his 34-year-old opponent, whose best days are almost certainly behind him.

Tursunov v Norrie
Briton Cameron Norrie is all the rage against Dmitry Tursunov, but the reluctant Russian was a classy performer in his pomp.
Norrie did not drop a set in seeing off Alexander Bublik, Sekou Bangoura and Go Soeda in qualifying, but Tursunov should be pretty fit after having a few outings earlier in the campaign and could trouble the world number 226 if in the mood to do so.

Rybarikova v Giorgi
Camila Giorgi has produced some top tennis in the US Open Series and the Italian defeated Magdalena Rybarikova 6-3 6-4 in Cincinnati.
Wimbledon semi-finalist Rybarikova is seeded 31st in New York, but that five-game deficit from their Ohio clash could prove a tough one to overturn.
