Team news

Southampton
Takumi Minamino is back in the squad after being unavailable in the FA Cup under the terms of his loan agreement. Alex McCarthy is also expected to return in goal but Theo Walcott remains out.

Wolves
Fernando Marcal, Raul Jimenez, Willy Boly and Daniel Podence are all sidelined with injuries. However, Conor Coady, Pedro Neto and Willian Jose are likely to be included in the starting 11 after being on the bench in midweek.

Match preview

Familiar foes clash at lunchtime as Southampton host Wolves and it looks like recent history could be about to repeat itself.

The pair met just last Thursday, when Danny Ings and Stuart Armstong were on target to give the Saints a 2-0 win in the FA Cup and they will now face south-coast rivals Bournemouth in the quarter-finals.

Southampton had looked to be in the mix for a European place but their form has dropped significantly.

They have lost their last five Premier League games by an aggregate of 18-3 but Thursday's cup victory will undoubtedly have given them confidence.

Both sides made changes in midweek but Saints were slicker, managing 18 shots to Wolves' five, with eight of those on target to their hosts' one.

A lack of cutting edge is precisely where the Molineux club are falling short, failing to score in three of their last four in the league, while they have netted just nine away goals all season.

Wolves had made a name for themselves with their free-flowing football but injuries to key players, and perhaps Nuno Espirito Santo's insistence on a small squad, has left them floundering.

New boy Willian Jose gives them a similar shape to when Raul Jimenez is in the side but not can't match his goals. The Brazilian is still to break his duck since signing on loan from Real Sociedad, where he had only managed six strikes in the first half of the campaign.

Wolves' woes mean they look there for the taking and it could be another tough afternoon at St Mary's.

Key stat

Wolves have won just one of their last ten league games.
