Newcastle v Tottenham Bet Builder preview

Over 2.5 goals

Newcastle's opening seven league games of the season have generated 24 goals – the joint-highest alongside West Ham – and there could be thrills and spills when they tackle Tottenham on Tyneside.

At some point in the future Newcastle fans will be hoping to see some of the best players in the world donning the famous black and white stripes. But, in recent weeks, they have enjoyed watching the skill and pace of Allan Saint-Maximim, who poses an obvious threat to Tottenham's backline.

If Saint-Maximin is on song Newcastle will fancy their chances of scoring for a sixth successive league game, but it is unlikely they will achieve a shutout.

Newcastle are awaiting their first clean sheet of the season and it is unlikely to arrive against Spurs, who have scored at least two goals on each of their last four visits to St James' Park.

Allan Saint-Maximin to score

Newcastle have been reliant on tricky Frenchman Saint-Maximin this season and his qualities may expose a Tottenham defence who have shipped ten goals in four league games.

Saint-Maximin has scored in each of his last two starts at St James' Park and is overpriced at 3-1 to get on the scoresheet again

Oliver Skipp to be carded

Oliver Skipp seems to be taking over from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as Tottenham's midfield destroyer.

Hojbjerg has collected two bookings this season but Skipp is teetering on the brink of a suspension after picking up four yellow cards.
