Lukaku can get the ball rolling for United

Manchester United made the perfect start to their Premier League campaign and they should stay on the winning trail with a victory over Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.

Romelu Lukaku opened his account with a double in the 4-0 win against West Ham last week as the Belgian shot to the top of the Golden Boot betting and bookmakers could be forced to run for cover again as the new United number nine fancied to add to his tally.

Jose Mourinho is building his 2017-18 United side around Paul Pogba and Lukaku and they have the pace, power and quality which better teams than Swansea will struggle to contain, so it seems likely to be a long 90 minutes for the hosts.

Lukaku, who also notched in the European Super Cup defeat to Real Madrid, is a worthy first-goalscorer favourite and odds of 3-1 make for a fair each-way punt.

United were perhaps made to look good by a totally inept West Ham side but at the same time Mourinho's men played well and there was excellent movement behind Lukaku from Juan Mata, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcus Rashford and Pogba.

The signing of Nemanja Matic means there is more licence for those creative performers to get forward and Lukaku will be licking his lips at the thought of a full season of service as United's main man having been frustrated at times during his Everton career.

Swansea finished last season well under Paul Clement, particularly at the Liberty where City managed six wins in their last eight outings.

On the face of it they also gained an excellent goalless draw at Southampton in their opener, but it was a performance lacking in quality and Swansea were extremely fortunate to escape with a point.

It was 29-4 in shots to Southampton, 13-0 on corners and despite failing to score the Saints' expected goals figure was above two. They created chances but never took them. If United create the same volume of clear opportunities expect them to be more ruthless.

Swansea also offered little in the way of attacking intent outside of the odd moment from new loanee Tammy Abraham, who scored 23 goals in the Sky Bet Championship for Bristol City last term - only Chris Wood bagged more in the second division.

However, it's tough for Abraham to make the step up when Swansea are still trying to find a solution to their attacking issues and the Welsh outfit failed to register an attempt on target at St Mary's.

Gylfi Sigurdsson was sold to Everton for good money but he needs replacing quickly and last season's top goalscorer, 15-goal Fernando Llorente, remains injured.
