Match preview

There have been no more than two goals in seven of the last eight Premier League encounters between Crystal Palace and Burnley so it might be unwise to anticipate a belter when they clash again.

The Clarets won 1-0 at Turf Moor earlier in the season, won 1-0 at Selhurst Park last season, and are worth a punt to win again.

Neither of these teams are in particularly good form – Palace have won three of their last 13, Burnley are winless in four culminating in a dismal FA Cup loss at home to Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Palace couldn't even fill their bench at Leeds on Monday night such is their injury situation and they threw in a howler, going down 2-0.

The absence of Wilf Zaha will always be overstated but you can't deny the facts. Palace have played six league and cup games minus Zaha this season and not scored in any of them, losing five.

He's their nine-goal top scorer and more important than that as they look so toothless without him.

Talking of toothless brings us to Burnley, the lowest scorers in England's four top divisions with just 14 goals to their name. Four-goal Chris Wood is their top scorer – none of his team-mates have got more than two – and he's probably not going to be fit. So, 0-0 anyone?

What is noteworthy with Sean Dyche's men is that nine of their 11 losses have come against top-ten teams and they can just bludgeon their way to the one goal, which may be all it requires to take the points.

Key stat

Palace have failed to score a goal in the last nine matches they have played without Wilf Zaha.
