Javi Gracia replaces sacked Silva

Watford axe coach following poor run of form

Watford have sacked Marco Silva
1 of 1

Watford have sacked Marco Silva following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Leicester and Javi Gracia has already filled the Vicarage Road vacancy.

Bookmakers soon suspended betting on former Malaga and Rubin Kazan coach Gracia, who was swiftly reported as the Hornets’ preferred replacement.

The decision to sack Silva came as more of a surprise with the former Hull coach still odds-against with layers to be the next Premier League manager to leave his current position when the announcement was made.

Tottenham are 2-1 to finish in the Premier League’s top four after a 1-1 draw away to Southampton.

Davinson Sanchez’s own goal put Saints in front before Harry Kane equalised for a Spurs side who had drifted to 5-6 from 4-6 before the match once Hugo Lloris and Christian Eriksen were declared unfit to feature at St Mary’s.

The point was not enough to move 18th-placed Saints, 5-1 to be relegated, out of the bottom three.

Bet365 have joined Betfred and Paddy Power in paying out on Manchester City to win the Premier League title.
