Parana could get gobbled up by Fluminense

Curitiba side are rock bottom in Brazil

Brazilian Serie A
Midnight Monday

Parana have won their last three Brazilian Serie A home meetings with Fluminense, scoring ten goals and conceding only two.

However, that statistic is misleading as the last of those matches was 11 seasons ago. The Curitiba outfit are yet to win on their top-flight return and are propping up the table, so the value bet looks to be Fluminense to shade what bookmakers expect to be a low-scoring contest. Under 2.5 goals is an 8-15 shot.

Fluminense have won only one of their last five away games in all competitions. However, one of their three defeats was 2-0 at Bolivian side Nacional Potosi in the Copa Sudamericana after they had won the home leg 3-0 and another was at champions Corinthians in the opening round of the campaign.

Abel Braga’s boys should be feeling well in themselves after following up back-to-back home league wins over Atletico Paranaense and Chapecoense with a 0-0 draw at Gremio. Their Serie A road success at Vitoria and home draw with Sao Paulo look fair form too.

Parana have held Curitiba rivals Atletico and Gremio to goalless draws in their last two home games but they lost 4-0 to Corinthians and 2-1 to Sport Recife in the first two at Estadio Vila Capanema and the visitors should have the upper hand.
