Oviedo may struggle to repel fast-starting Numancia
Hotshots set for a shootout
Copa del Rey second round
Real Oviedo's three matches in the Segunda Division this season have featured ten goals - the joint-highest tally in the division - and they could be involved in an entertaining match at home to second- tier rivals Numancia in the second round of the Copa del Rey.
Last season was a disappointment for Oviedo, who finished two points outside the playoff positions.
In an effort to improve they have appointed a new manager in Juan Anquela and 13 players, 11 of them on permanent contracts.
Anquela led unfashionable Huesca into the Segunda Division playoffs last season and there is an expectation that he will do the same for Oviedo, who have greater resources.
But it was always likely to take some time for so many new players to settle and Oviedo have experienced a mixed start, taking four points from the nine available.
However, they were 3-0 winners at home to Reus on Sunday thanks largely to 34-year-old star striker Jose Toche, who scored his first two goals of the season.
Toche, whose career includes spells at Atletico Madrid, Panathinaikos and Deportivo, has been the main man for Oviedo in recent seasons, scoring 17 league goals in 2015-16 and another 17 last term.
Oviedo's weakness is at the back and they will be tested by Numancia, who have made a strong start to the season and are in second place.
Numancia struggled for goals last season, netting just 40 in 42 league games, but the summer addition of striker Pere Mila on loan from Eibar has made a difference.
Mila has netted in all three of their games and is the obvious threat to Oviedo.
It could boil down to a shootout between strikers Toche and Mila and the best way to profit is to back both teams to score at a shade of odds-on.
Both teams to score
